Johnsonʼs Reconstruction Plan:

- Pardons would be granted to those taking a loyalty oath.
- There will be no pardons for confederate officials who have a property that cost $20 000 or more.
- The state needed to put an end to slavery before being accepted by other states.

Black Codes:

laws that restricted freedmen's rights. Laws that helped the whites gain power over the Black Americans or freemen.

14th and 15th Amendment:

14th and 15th Amendment also known as the Three Reconstruction Era Amendments. The 14th amendment told about priviliges and equal immunity. The Fifteenth Amendment included defense against color, race, obediance or slavery.

Carpetbagger:

They are northeners that moved to south during the reconstruction era.

Scalawag:

He was like a mascot for the southern whites and he kept bringing news about the reconstruction and the civil war.
